Step by step

How does home vaccination work?

  1. Get a prescription from your doctor

Your GP or specialist prescribes the vaccine. The prescription is required for the vaccine to be dispensed by the pharmacy and for Social Security reimbursement.

  2. Collect the vaccine from the pharmacy

Collect the vaccine from your local pharmacy using your prescription before my visit. Most vaccines need to be kept refrigerated (2–8°C) until I arrive.

  3. Book a home visit

Contact me by phone or WhatsApp to arrange a convenient time. I cover Pertuis and the surrounding villages.

  4. Vaccine administered & vaccination record updated

I administer the injection and monitor you briefly for any immediate reaction. Your vaccination record (carnet de vaccination) is updated at each visit.

Which vaccines can I administer at home?

The seasonal flu vaccine is the most common home vaccination, especially for elderly, immunocompromised or mobility-impaired patients. I visit every autumn for your annual jab.

The shingles vaccine (Shingrix) is recommended from age 65 and can be administered comfortably at home, without a trip to a surgery or pharmacy.

DTP boosters (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio) and whooping cough, as well as any other vaccine prescribed by your doctor (hepatitis B, pneumococcus, etc.) can also be administered at home in Pertuis.

For patients on immunosuppressive therapy, home vaccination avoids exposure to infections in a waiting room.

FAQ

Questions about vaccination at home

Do I need a prescription for home vaccination?
Yes, a prescription from your GP is required for the vaccine to be dispensed by the pharmacy and covered by French Social Security.
Where do I buy the vaccine?
The vaccine is purchased at your local pharmacy on prescription. If it requires cold storage (2–8°C, as most vaccines do), keep it in the fridge until I arrive.
Is home vaccination reimbursed?
Yes, the vaccination act is reimbursed by French Social Security on prescription. I use the tiers payant system — you do not pay the Social Security portion upfront. The flu vaccine is 100% reimbursed for at-risk patients. The complementary portion depends on your mutuelle (top-up insurance).
Is it safe to be vaccinated at home?
Yes, as long as the injection is performed by a qualified healthcare professional. As a registered nurse (Diplômée d'État), I am qualified to administer vaccines and will monitor you for any immediate reaction (faintness, urticaria) for a few minutes after the injection.
