What types of wounds are treated?

I treat post-operative surgical wounds: sutures, staples, and scars requiring regular monitoring and care after an operation.

I also manage pressure sores (bedsores) in bedridden patients or those with severely reduced mobility, applying protocols appropriate to each stage.

Venous and arterial leg ulcers, which frequently recur and require daily or several-times-weekly care, are among my routine cases.

I also treat diabetic foot wounds (which require particularly careful management), burns at the healing stage, and traumatic wounds such as deep lacerations, extensive abrasions, or bites requiring home nursing care.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about home wound care

Do I need a prescription for a wound dressing?
Yes, a medical prescription is required for the care to be covered by French health insurance. It specifies the type of dressing, the frequency of visits and the duration of treatment. Without a prescription, the service is still available but will be charged directly to you.
Is wound care covered by French insurance?
Yes, wound dressing services carried out with a prescription are reimbursed by French health insurance. I use direct billing (tiers payant): you do not pay the Social Security portion upfront. The top-up portion depends on your complementary insurance policy.
How often will you visit for dressings?
The frequency is defined by your doctor on the prescription. Depending on the nature and progress of the wound, this can range from every two to three days up to a daily visit, or even twice daily for complex wounds.
Do you bring all necessary materials?
Yes, I bring all sterile materials to each visit: gauze, specialist dressings, antiseptics, gloves and everything needed depending on the wound type. You do not need to buy or prepare anything in advance.
